Mr. Hamiel (front) pictured here with the members of the 2021 Winter Extravaganza following their performance Tuesday night at EGHS.

The Winter Extravaganza was spectacular. Many families came and the donation box ended up being full. It was a night filled with amazing music and fun.

The doors opened at 7:50 p.m. and the band played their first song “March Of The Irish Guard” by James D. Ployhar.

Hamiel’s second period class is carolling this year and they played a small ensemble of Christmas songs.

When Hamiel’s not in charge he turns things over to his “Band Merritt”, Paige Merritt. She is a junior and plays the flute during concerts and sporting events.

“I think Mr. Hamiel is going to do great things for our band this year and make it better.” Merritt said.

Close to the end of the performance the students played “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Larry Kerchner. Hamiel did not conduct them during this performance; they simply played alone and none of them missed a beat.

The night ended with a bow and the sound of applause filled the air.
